Checking in! Whew, it's been a busy month, hence the lack of blog posts. For the second year in a row, a small group of 6 families had to raise $7500 in 2 months for our kids' Odyssey of the Mind teams to go to the World Finals in Iowa. Well, with lots of help, it was raised! Woo-hoo! The kids left for Iowa yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon, they arrived in Louisville, KY and visited a state park where they could hunt for fossils. Today, they are headed to Chicago. They will go to the Field Museum this evening. Tomorrow is the final leg of the trip to Ames, Iowa.
Reed, ZB and I are staying home (though Reed REALLY wanted to go), and we won't see Clay again until Monday, which is his 14th birthday!! When the vans arrive back in Asheville, we plan to greet them with cupcakes and refreshments. ZB had the great idea to make party hats.
I'm glad we made them yesterday, or I'm sure the project would have been postponed until Sunday night :) Hopefully the teenagers approve enough to wear them... though I might have to bribe them with cupcakes!
